Throughout much of the 18th century, a conical torso with a defined waist and rounded bosom was seen as the ideal shape. Our 1750s closed front stays recreate this fashionable silhouette and are the perfect base for your historical costume, Marie Antoinette cosplay, American Revolutionary War persona, or other Georgian-period impression.
These stays feature cut-in-one tabs (skirts) to comfortably elongate and define the waist. The diagonal seam lines and boning smooth and support the torso, while the angled straps draw the shoulders back to create an elegant, upright posture.
Details:
Appropriate for 1740s–1770s
Cotton sateen fashion fabric outer layer
English cotton coutil and twill strength/lining layers
Interfaced bellypiece for support over abdomen
Half-boned with synthetic whalebone
Plus sizes (18–26) feature additional boning throughout for added support
Center back spiral lacing with two-piece nickel grommets
Alterable side seams and straps
